EMAIL
To Implement:
Create a Group Email List and a Custom Signature
Cost: $0

Even if you don't know how to build a website or blog, if you're online you most likely know how to use email. Email can be used as an effective tool in your donor drive campaign if you simply don't have anyone available to help set up a more sophisticated web presence.

You can still employ the help of a volunteer to keep your group up to date. With Tami's site I often create a list of points that need to be shared on her blog for our blog volunteer Wendy. She writes if up as a story "prettying" it up for the public to read. This saves me time and can save you time too if you have a volunteer willing to take on the task.

There are two ways to use email to help spread the word:
1. Send out messages to a group list to keep your family, friends, supporters and volunteers pu to date on how you are feeling and how your drive efforts are coming along.

2. You can add a custom signature to all of the emails you send out to everyone to help to continue to spread the word. There will be a way to create a "signature" in your email program. If you cannot figure out how to do this you can always type out the information particularly when contacting people who aren't friends and family such as the media or a donor program.

Above is what a "Signature" looks like in an email. It is present as soon as I create a new message as it's set up as a default function in my mail program.

And below is a close-up. Your signature should contain contact information especially if you are sending out a request for media coverage so that an editor or producer can reach you quickly if they want to cover your drive efforts:

• Your Full Name
• A phone number
• A Mailing Address
• Your Donor Drive Website URL
